Iranian NISCO Confirms Steel Output Grows 13%
IRNA reported that Mr. Abdolmajid Sharifi, Managing Director of Iran’s National Iron and Steel Company, confirmed in 2017 that Iranian crude steel production increased by 13%. He told the IRNA that although the growth rate in Iran was the same, the world growth for the first five months was 4.6% in 2017.
According to the World Iron and Steel Institute report, Iran produced a total of 8,189,000 tons of crude steel in the first five months of 2017, compared with 7,155,000 tons in the same period last year.
Mr. Sharifi added that Iran should look at the world steel market and produce 50 million tons of crude steel production in 2025. It should supply 20 million tons to the export market and 35 million tons of domestic consumption.
The general manager of the daily civil war said that Iran currently exports 8 million tons of crude steel this year (March 20, 2018) and said Iran exported 6 million tons of crude steel.
In 1394 (2 years ago), Iran produced 16.7 million tons of crude steel, reaching more than 18 million tons last year, this year’s output reached 20 million tons (1396).
