A Florida woman is being credited some quick thinking by using a pizza-ordering phone app to send a message for help while she and her kids reportedly were being held hostage by her boyfriend.
A Pizza Hut in Avon Park, Fla., on Monday received an online order for a small, hand-tossed classic pizza with pepperoni at about 3:40 p.m.
A receipt shows those few extra words.
“Please help. Get 911 to me,” the receipt reads.
Deputies were able to get Nickerson to surrender peacefully after about 20 minutes.
Nickerson has been charged with aggravated assault with a weapon without intent to kill, battery, false imprisonment and obstructing justice by depriving communication to law enforcement.
Take note, evildoers. We might not have a bat signal, but we do have the Pizza Hut app.
