Man accused of robbing pharmacy in Sterling

A Rock Falls man was found and arrested in the woods minutes after he allegedly stole medication while robbing a pharmacy in Sterling, Illinois.

Police were called to the CVS pharmacy at 2301 Locust just before 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015. Witnesses told them a white man, dressed in dark clothing, “stole an unknown medication after conveying a threat,” according to a statement from Sterling Police. The man then left the store on foot and headed south toward a wooded area.

Police said they found 31-year-old Robert Collins, of Rock Falls, in that wooded area three minutes later.

Collins was arrested on charges of robbery, armed robbery, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance. He was held in the Whiteside County Jail.
